Behind the Headlines/september 28

Jamshid Chalangi:

In tonight’s program of Behind the Headlines:

What are the consequences of the Ahwaz terrorist attack?

What did Hassan Rouhani say in his speech at the UN and how did the US officials respond to his comments?

Our guests tonight to discuss these topics are Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh, Hassan Shariatmadari and Mohammad Nourizad.

Mohammad Nourizad:

An independent journalist named Yashar Soltani who has been trying to investigate the Ahwaz attack has been arrested and all we hear about that incident is the wave of the regime’s news stories.

Iranian people are extremely suspicious of the attack and all fingers of blame are directed at the Revolutionary Guard. There are several reasons for this. Firstly Rouhani needed to plead victim of terrorism at UN in the same way the regime did with the assassination of the nuclear scientists.

It is inconceivable how a group of terrorists simply jump out of a small park and bypass the stand where the Guard commanders are seated and keep shooting directly at the marching soldiers and innocent crowd.

One MP has said that the attackers had been shooting for twelve continuous minutes and nobody has tried to fight them back from among the security personnel.

I believe the Revolutionary Guards are one of the accomplices of the attackers.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

It is true that the regime has put a blanket of silence on the event at home but here in exile we are spreading the news and informing our people about who has been behind this deadly attack.

A relative of Ahmad Mansouri, the man who has led the attack, has contacted us and said that he had been under the surveillance of the Revolutionary Guard for the last six months and his cousins had joined him for the operation.

They had filmed their gathering to discuss the attack and had given the footage to the Revolutionary Guard and the Guards gave it to Daesh (ISIS). Daesh had assumed that Rouhani had been at the stand on the day while did not know much about the operation.

Mansouri had been arrested alive but the Guards have killed him in the hospital. This regime is an expert in staging this kind of shows and the example of cinema Rex of Abadan is in front of us.

Hassan Shariatmadari:

I believe this action of the regime shows how low it has gone. I think the Revolutionary Guard were behind the attack to plead guilty in face of the barrage of criticisms against its nefarious regional acts and its corruption at home.

The Guards have plotted this attack to justify their presence in the region’s hot spots under the false claim of “providing security for Iranians inside the country”.

The Guards will not care about Rouhani’s position and is only interested in its own power. However, they may think that they can carry out this kind of plots and control the news inside the country, but the truth will eventually come out as it has already done about this murderous plot.
