In tonight’s program from our studios in London we will look at Mohammad Javad Zarif’s resignation as the regime’s Foreign Minister, which has now become the main news headline of the MiddleEast region and the world media.
We will ask our guests why Zarif has resigned and did he ever determine the foreign policy of the Islamic republic regime? Or was he always carrying out Khamenei’s orders.
Zarif had repeatedly told the world media that Iran does not have any political prisoners in its jails. Is his resignation another ploy by the regime?
Our guest tonight is the former Iranian diplomat under the Islamic republic Mr Mohammad Reza Haydari.
Mohammad Reza Haydari:
Zarif’s resignation has acted as a major news story across the world. I think the regime is trying to divert the attention of the Iranian people from their daily severe economic and socialproblems by staging this resignation issue. Our friends inside Iran have told us to be aware of this matter and not be deluded about it.
Zarif had already talked of a war with Israel during the Munich Security Conference and he deliberately did so to tell the Europeans that if they do not support him and the Rouhani government in a more serious way then a hardline regime will prevail in Tehran and they will lose their interest in the country.
Everyone including Mr Zarif himself knows that he is not the architect of the Iranian regime’s foreign policy and must obey Khamenei’s orders all the time.
And Mr Mike Pompeo has very correctly said that Zarif and Rouhani are just the facade of this regime. It is good to know that the Americans have finally accepted this reality and will not be fooled.
