We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
We continue the program with looking at the reaction of Hamidreza Jaliepour, a well-known reformist, to the documentary of Hezarpa on the IraneFarda TV, which deals with the history of the Revolutionary Guard and its role in the repression of the Iranian peoples since its establishment.
Jaliepour has denied that he has had any involvement in the violent repression of Iran’s Kurdish people.
His name is associated with the martyrdom of two of his brothers during the Iran-Iraq war, and he drives his political credentials from them.
In fact his name is very much also associated with the post-revolution bloody purges of the opponents of the Islamic republic regime, but he later joined Dr. Mohsen Sazegara and together they launched the pro-reform daily Jame’e.
He has accused IraneFarda of “fabricating the news” that he was ever involved in any crackdown on the Kurdish Iranians and claims that IraneFarda’s documentary and its content supports the overthrow of the Iranian regime and as such is anti-reformist movement in Iran and that the part of the documentary that deals with his past actions “is a character assassination”.
Jaliepour further denies that he has been involved in the mass executions of Kurdish and Azeri Iranians and claims that he hadalways opposed any violent reaction to the opponents of the regime.
Our answer to Mr Jaliepour’s denials is that he is nothing more than a politician with a checkered background that has involved mass murder of Iranian Kurds by hanging and firing squads and has in the past used this background to beg from Khamenei and his clique for a position within the despotic Islamic republic regime.
He has never had the courage of confessing to the crimes that he and his friends have carried out in the Kurdistan region of Iran, which is well documented and those responsible for it will be brought to justice one day.
In the second part of the program we will review the latest news of the Middle East, including how the Hezbollah are blocking the progress towards the formation of a national unity government in Lebanon.
At the end of the program we will play the video clip of the speech by woman MP Mrs. Salahshouri at the regime’s Majles and report on the arrest of more Iranian independent lawyers.
