We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
We continue tonight’s program with a review of Jamal Khashoogi’s life and shed some further light on the tragedy of his death.
He was a friend of my and I always wished to see him again and talk about our common dreams for the Middle East. However, it was not to be and he had a different destiny, as happened to my other friends of mine like the Iranian intellectual Ebrahim Zalzadeh and writers Mohammad Mokhtari and Mohammad Jafar Pouyandeh whose chests were slit by the knives of the Islamic republic regime’s assassins.
But the question still remains for me that how on earth the Saudi regime that has never kidnapped or murdered any one of its many opponents during its 80 years life suddenly resorts to this horrific act and then the Al Jazeera news agency and TV reports on it round the clock? There must be a dimension to this story that we yet have to discover.
Having said that, I believe the Saudi’s approach was not correct from the beginning and they should have admitted what had happened in the first instance.
In Iran the Islamic republic regime has for long tried to cover up all its murderous actions against our country’s journalists and writers but the likes of Parastoo, the daughter of the slain Forouhars have kept the memory of her parents and the crimes of the Iranian regime alive!
Jamal Khashoogi was not an ordinary man. His grandparents held high positions in the Ottoman governments and later migrated to Saudi Arabia.
He was also a prominent journalist and former editor of Al Watan daily and a regular contributor to Al Hayat newspaper. He later became associated with the Muslim Brotherhood but I never thought he was a radical Muslim.
Now the Islamic republic regime is trying to portray Jamal’s death to a rivalry among the Saudi royal family and Erdogan says he will soon reveal what exactly happened to him and Trump is sitting on the fence.
Later in the program we will discus the latest reshuffle of Rouhani’s cabinet and again review Khamenei’s claims of his regime making Iran one of the most advanced countries of the world in 47 years time!!!
