A Window to the Fatherland/Dr. Nourizadeh/May 3, 2018

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Then as with every Thursday, tonight we will speak to our guest Dr. Mohsen Sazegara who will share with us his expert views on the long forgotten assassination of ayatollah Motahari as the theoretician behind the Islamic revolution, as well as a review of the current mass protests against the regime in many parts of the country.

We will also pay tribute to the renowned songwriter Rahi Moayeri and the late General Nader Jahanbani who was executed by the murderous Islamic regime.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Do you recall the evening when ayatollah Motahari was assassinated? There is this unproven theory that his murder was an inside job as he had protested to Khomeini about the arbitrary execution of the former regime’s officials.

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

I doubt if the agent of the same regime that he helped bring to power killed him. Members of the Forghan Group were arrested for Motahari’s murder and they confessed to his killing. Although I did not fully agree with his ideas, he was the most educated member of Khomeini’s entourage. I however agree with you that had he been alive today, he would have certainly become a dissident under this regime.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We heard the Iranian trade union leader Mr Osanlou has had a car accident.

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

Yes, sadly that is true. He has been extremely busy with organizing rallies for the First of May and had not slept for days and nights. He is now in hospital and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

How would you analyze the recent mass protests in the cities of Kazeroun and Mashad, as well as the ongoing workers’ strikes?

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

The protests of the people of Baneh against the closure of border crossings with Iraq have now entered into its third week. It must be said that there are several parallel protest movements going on in Iran at the same time. In all these protests you can see the widening of the gap between the rich and the poor as the majority of the Iranians have become impoverished under the ruling regime.

We have more than 13 million Iranian industrial workers who run our factories and their power is comparable with none. Many of them have not been paid their salaries for months. The regime may have set up its own puppet unions, but they have not been able to stifle the struggle of the Iranian working class and soon this struggle will sweep every Iranian city and town.

If you add the frustration of the Iranian youths to the power of the workers, then you have a force that will uproot the regime’s foundations.

The regime has spent $88 billion on sustaining its mercenaries among the Hezbollah of Afghan militias to spread its evil ideology, whereas this huge money should have been given to Iranian workers to alleviate their hardship and feed them.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We hear that the regime is now training the militias of the Polisario Front in North Africa.

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

Yes, this is a new source of income for the greedy commanders of the Revolutionary Guard. Ghassem Soleimani has also pocketed more than $50million form releasing the Qatari hostages. Polisario and similar organizations are just business entities and have nothing to do with noble ideas of freedom and democracy.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

The Israelis have now heightened their threats by bombing Iranian bases in Syria. Why is it that the Iranian regime has not reacted at all and kept silent?

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

The Israelis have four red lines; they will not tolerate the presence of any Iranian bases in Syria that houses missiles; they will opposes any deployment of Shia militias from Afghanistan or Lebanon; they will destroy any transfer of arms and ammunitions to the Hezbollah through Syria and they will not allow any Iranian forces to get close to their borders with Syria.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Sadly the Islamic republic does not notice the geopolitical changes that are taking place in the region and the fact that the Israelis are far stronger than Iran in military terms.

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

I believe the Israelis will continue to launch their limited attacks on the Iranian forces in Syria, as they know the Iranian regime cannot afford to respond. And as Netanyahu showed on Monday, the Israelis have their own sources within Iran itself to provide them with this inside information.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Do you think Trump will take the US out of the nuclear deal on May the 12th?

Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:

The 12th of May is not that important as whatever President Trump decides on that day, the Congress will have to make the actual decision to bring back the sanctions and that will take two months.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
