A Window to the Fatherland/Dr. Nourizadeh/May 22, 2018

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We have received a number of criticisms from some of our viewers who have complained about the appearance of Dr. Ziba Kalam and Mohammad Nourizad in our programs.

We ought to caution them that we must refrain from character assassination of people who do not necessarily hold the same views and opinions that we do and by looking at the background of these two persons we notice that they have been struggling against the ruling Iranian regime and they need our support, rather than condemnation.

We will continue the program with looking at the issue of how our fellow Iranians who live abroad are currently in fear of visiting our motherland, as though going back to one’s birthplace is now equivalent to committing a “crime”!

In this regard we will mention the sad case of the late Morteza Barzi who recently returned to Iran after many years of living in exile but unfortunately died after paying a visit to the grave of his elder brother.

We have always believed that the tyrannical regime of the Islamic republic in our motherland is a sworn enemy of whatever that stands for happiness and beauty and has a long history of harassing the Iranian journalists who live outside Iran.

In the second part of the program we will talk about the birthday of the singer Homayoun Shajarian and remember the late Jalil Shahnaz, the man who gave the Iranian traditional music a new life with his mastery in playing the Tar.

We will also look at the comments of Isa Kalantari of Iran’s Environment Agency who has said that the regime has not found any evidence to prove that the arrested environmentalists have been working as spies for foreign governments and that they should be freed from prison unconditionally and immediately.

We all know that a group of these environmentalists we killed when their plane crashed in the wintry weather of southern Iran city of Yasooj three months ago in suspicious circumstances, as they had discovered the regime had been involved in continuation of its nuclear program in the area.

And the toothless Iranian MPs have been debating the bill that deals with Iran joining the international convention that bans financial support to terrorist organizations as some of these ignorant MPs have been shouting on the floor of the Majles in opposition to the move.

In the meantime, Federica Mogherini of the UE has been reacting to the new US policy on Iran announced by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, by saying that the nuclear deal is the result of a decade of diplomatic efforts by the international community and that it was not supposed to cover other issues related to Iranian regime’s behaviour.

Stay with us for this edition of A Window to the Fatherland and share it with your family and friends.
