We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr Alireza Nourizadeh:
Tonight we will be speaking to our special guest of every Thursday Dr Mohsen Sazegara and ask his views about the unprecedented way the Iranian people have welcomed the arrival of Nowruz.
Dr Mohsen Sazegara:
With my repeated best wishes to all my Iranian compatriots on the occasion of Nowruz, I must confess that I am amazed to see the unprecedented enthusiasm that the Kurdish, Azeri, Arab, Turkmen and other Iranians have shown towards welcoming this year’s Nowruz, despite the very many socio-economic woes that the regime has brought upon their daily lives.
We all know that Nowruz is the time for the rebirth of the earth and heralds happiness and hope to all humans, regardless of their race or nationality.
However, the current despotic and anti-human regime in Iran is only interested in promoting sadness and despair among our people to suppress and control them.
While our people wish to live in peace at home and with their neighbours, the commander of the Revolutionary Guard Mohammad Jaffari has claimed that he has assembled more than 200,000 militias in the Middle Eastern countries who would obey his orders to cause turmoil and chaos.
However, while Jaffari and Khamenei are trying to inject their “revolutionary ideology” into the minds of our people, the Iranians have clearly shown that they not only do not follow the regime’s hallow slogans, but are only interested in peace and coexistence with our neighbours and the wider international community.
