A Window to the Fatherland/Dr. Nourizadeh/June 27

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

We continue the program with talking to our special guest of every Thursday, Dr. Mohsen Sazegara, for his views about news of Iran and the Middle East, by asking his opinion on the US sanctions on Ali Khamenei and Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Also, this week we lost Dr. Alikhani, the man behind Iran’s pre-revolution economic success. He was a decent patriot who also served as the chancellor of Tehran University.

In his exiled life he continued to care for Iran and the Iranians by publishing many memoirs and we are very sad by his death. We are even sadder to see the low people who have replaced him in Iran’s economic and educational institutes.

Mohsen Sazegara:

I also offer my sincere condolences for the passing of Dr. Alikhani. He had combined the ministries of commerce, industries and mining into one ministry and his ministry of economics was responsible for Iran’s fast economic progress in the 1960s, which at the time was even ahead of South Korea.

Today those in charge of our country’s economic life are just a bunch of ineffective people with big mouth who do not know what economy means, let alone do something about our country’s bankrupted economic system.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

They have said that economy is a matter for the donkeys to think about but know how to make millions of themselves and squander our people’s wealth for their regional activities.

Mohsen Sazegara:

Last week was very important as it started with the downing of the US drone. Hitting these drones with missiles is not that difficult as they have the size of aBoeing passenger airplane. But the drone had been in international airspace.

We had discussed before that incident that the signs point to a limited military action in the region. Trump avoided this but Khamenei ignored the perils of takingIran into a war and Rouhani’s reaction to the US punitive sanctions after the drone incident has been ridiculous.
