We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
We continue the program with playing a video clip about the renowned Iranian poet Ismail Khoie on the occasion of his 80th birthday and wish him avery happy birthday and a long life to come!
We are once again approaching the Hajj season and it reminds us of the time when the late Mohammad Reza Shah whom the current rulers of Iran unashamedly used to call an “infidel” was so spiritual and a true believer and every time he visited a religious shrine in Iran or abroad he proved that.
But the interpretation of this regime about religion is equal to chaos and hypocrisy and every time they attend the Hajj they claim to be there for “fighting the infidels” as if pagans still rule over the holy shrines of our religion fourteen centuries after they were thrown out!!
The Shah and his father Reza Shah ruled Iran for 57 years and when you look at those years one can clearly see how they never interfered in the affairs of the religious establishment and respected their leaders.
But nowadays the leaders of the current religious establishment are among the most corrupt people in Iran and have turned into businessmen.
They criticize the Saudis but forget that King Fahd welcomed Khatami on a wheelchair and Rafsanjani was the guest of the House of Saud for 17 days in order to improve relations between the two countries.
But what has this regime done instead? It has sent terrorists to bomb Saudi targets and given money and arms to the Houthis to cause chaos and instability in the region. So long as this regime is in power the region would not see a day of peace and stability.
The conservative politician Zakani has revealed that corruption and theft of the public wealth is so commonplace within the regime that one minister alone has 130 companies registered under his name.
The regime claims that its anti-Americanism is to protect Iran’s independence! What independence? Iran is now almost a satellite state of the Russians who are taking advantage of the anti-Western positions that the regime pretends to have.
Khamenei has allowed the Russians to become a major player in Iran’s internal politics only because he wants them to support the ides of his son Mujtaba to succeed him.
And today the regime has announced that it has started to enrich uranium again and we should wait and see how the Europeans will react to this breach of the nuclear deal with them.
