We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
We continue the program with talking to our special guest of every Thursday, Dr. Mohsen Sazegara, for his views about the latest news of Iran and the region.
Iran’s former ambassador to Germany Ali Majedi has told ISNA news agency that the Europeans have access to some information about the regime’s terrorist activities and missile program that cannot easily be denied.
This is a very serious comment by a regime’s high official, which indirectly blames the Revolutionary Guard for these issues.
Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:
I think Majedi is one of the diplomats who along with Zarif himself had resigned over this issue, but Khamenei had rejected Zarif’s resignation.
The task of a diplomat and ambassador is to build relations with the foreign country in which they serve but when the regime is after terrorist activities in that foreign country then his mission is meaningless.
Majedi has blamed the rogue elements within theregime for these terrorist plots but we all know perfectly well that all these so-called rogue elements are directly connected to Khamenei’s household.
At the end of the day the Europeans have their own spying operations and intelligence gathering sources and would certainly share it with the Americans.
The EU countries are still pushing for continuation of trade with Iran and oppose the US sanctions and terrorist operations by the regime hamper their efforts in that respect.
We seem to have two foreign ministries in Iran when it comes to our country’s foreign policy towards the Middle East: one the official department, and another run by the Revolutionary Guard and its Quds Brigade.
