A Window to the Fatherland/Dr. Nourizadeh/December 3

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

In tonight’s program we have the pleasure of having Dr. Hossein Bor as our guest to discuss with him the economic and political issues of Iran.

Alireza Rezaie was buried in Lyon yesterday and we really feel for her mother. He was buried in the traditional way as other Iranians, but somebody who claims to be a secular opposition figure has criticised the ceremony for being Islamic.

We have always said that our struggle is against a tyrannical regime that has abused Islam for staying in power and not against people’s religious beliefs.

Dr. Hossein Bor:

I agree with you. We area against religious superstitions and ignorance, not against people believing in a faith.

Sadly the Sunni religious leader Abdulghafar Kamal Zahi who was a scholar and progressive man was assassinated in Sistan and Baluchestan last week by the radical Hezbollahis who seek to divide our people on the lines of Shia verses Sunnis.

We can surely say that his murder had been plotted by the ruling Islamic regime in Iran.

Our Turkmen people are also Sunni Muslims and they are very welcoming towards other believers.

I must caution that the regime has begun to recruit from among them for its repressive organs and the Turkmen people must stand up against this trend.

Today our workers in the Haft Tapeh Sugar Factory have shown that the only way for a better future is to struggle against this regime’s policies.
