We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
Tonight is Yalda Night, the birthday of Iranian prophet Mitra, who heralded peace and love among the humankind thousands of years ago. Her teachings stretched across the old world from Mexico to China.
During my recent rip to US I met with a fellow Iranian whom I have know for many years. Better said, he is not just an Iranian, he represents a society of like-minded Iranians who love their motherland even though they have been forced to leave it and have lived in exile for many years.
He is the opposite of some Iranians who have made their fortune form Iran and its wealth, but refuse to pay a penny to their needy fellow countrymen.
He is Mr Khosrow Semnani who once he heard about the hungry striking Iranian workers of Haf Tapeh sugar factory in Ahwaz has offered $2 millions of aid to them and their families!
We are honored to have Mr Semnani as our guest tonight who has written a report titled “Where is My Oil” about how $800 billions of Iran’s oil revenue has been squandered by the Iranian regime over the last decade or so.
Mr Khosrow Semnani:
I am very humbled for your introduction about me. Our project to safeguard Iran’s interests began in 2010 when there was the talk of a military attack on the country for its nuclear program.
We held a good number of public meetings and approached US politicians in the Congress to warn them against such scenario and thankfully this never happened.
We established a charity organization in 1993 which apart from providing humanitarian help to the Iranians is also involved in looking into the causes of our country’s numerous social and economic problems.
Our project of “Where is my Oil” is based on looking at the issue of Iran’s natural resources and how instead of helping our country to progress and benefit its people have been mismanaged and sold out by the current government to sustain its power.
