We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
Today we speak with Dr. Payam Fazel whose mother was cowardly executed by the regime. I knew their family and will never forget their loss and the crime committed by the regime against their family.
Dr. Payam Fazel:
We lived through the revolution and suffered from its consequences. My father was the head of the clinic at the Shaheed Charity Foundation and also helped in other areas of the medical practice in Iran.
However, the death of my mother showed that therevolutions devour their children. I had met with all the funding members of the Islamic republic regime and even the present leader Khamenei had no mercy on our family despite knowing us very well.
He only tried to clam us down by trying to convince us that an injustice had been done and that he regretted it.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
You are among a few people who have visited North Korea. What is your view of the current situation in there with regard to its opening to the world.
Dr. Payam Fazel:
I am truly amazed by the way this young man, the North Koran leader, has been playing the political chess with the West and the US, as well as South Korea.
Unlike the leaders of the Islamic republic regime who have distanced themselves from the people and have no interest in looking after their needs, the North Korean leader has been visiting various towns and villages of his country and realized that they are suffering from hunger and cried for them.
He has now decided to put an end to their misery and give up his nuclear arsenal in return to joining the international community.
I am sure within the next four or five years North Korea will be a different country from what it is now.
