In tonight’s program we will look at the continued tension between Tehran and Washington over the issue of Iran scaling down on its commitments within the nuclear deal with the international community.
Meanwhile US officials are visiting Middle Eastern capitals with the aim of discussing Iran’s activities in the region as at the other side of the globe in Japan leaders of the G20countries are converging to hold a conference on environment and farming issues, as well as discussing the current tension between Iran and US.
No doubt this issue will dominate the Osaka’s G20 Summit and to find out more about it we speak to our special guest veteran journalist Amir Taheri.
We are also sorry to announce the death of Dr. Alinaghi Alikhani, the former dean of Tehran University and Minister of Economy.
Amir Taheri:
Dr. Alikhani was a true Iranian patriot and fully committed to the progress of Iran. Iranians like him did their level best to drag Iran out of a semi-feudal and poor country and join it with the modern industrial world and give a better life style and prosperity to the Iranian people.
The last time I spoke with him I could see him sobbing and telling us that the Iran of future belongs to itsyoung generations and they must work hard to rebuild it and make it a free and great country.
This was his real and final will as a very experienced man he knew this was an achievable objective and the country must put an end to its current calamities.
Dr. Alikhani was the force behind the publication of the former minister Assdulah Alam’s memoirs, which represent an important part of history of the contemporary Iran.
The main problem that our country is facing today is that it is under the rule of a system of governance thatsimply does not work. It does not conform with any of the modern world’s conventions and rules as it regards itself as being only accountable to supernatural forces.
