A Window to the Fatherland/Dr. Nourizadeh/June 24

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Over the weekend Andrew Murrison, the British Foreign Office Minister for the Middle East, flew to Iran for talks with Kamal Kharazi, but appeared to make little progress on reducing the tension between Iran and US.

We have one Foreign Minister by the name of Javad Zarif. Then we have a “foreign policy advisor” to Khamenei by the name of Ali Akbar Velayati, and now we have Kamal Kharazi as the head of “Foreign Policy Council”!

They are just creating jobs for themselves and the country is going through crisis after crisis in the meantime and nobody in the regime is the least concerned about what will happen if the UK and US unite and a military confrontation takes place.

Kharazi is the puppet of Khamenei and is the man who advisedMohammad Khatami not to meet with Bill Clinton when he was the president, an encounter that could have changed the course of relations between Iran and US for good.

President Trump has said United States military had been ready for a strike against Iran on last Thursday night, but he called it off with10 minutes tospare when a general told him that 150 people would probably die in the attack.

It is now reported that sources had informed the Americans that the Iranian regime could have retaliated by hitting the United Arab Emirates with several missiles and destroy their economic infrastructures and as such Trump aborted the attack on Iran.

Naturally Mr Bolton and the Mujaheddin would have supported the bombing of Iran!!

However, instead yesterday president Trump signed “hard hitting” sanctions against Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei in the latestround of a stand-off between US and the regime in Iran.

The US president said the sanctions will deny access to “key financial resources and support” for the supreme leader, his office and those “closely affiliated” with him.

Meanwhile U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo today held talks with leaders in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates about countering the military threat from Iran by building a broad, global coalition that includes Asian and Europeancountries.

At the end of the program we will look at the Iraqi news and the Bahrain summit about the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
