We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
I was talking to a friend of mine and we both remembered the day that Khomeini returned to Iran after his exile. We have witnessed the revolution and can tell how the people who came to Iran with him were one by one purged by him.
We can now imagine a day when Prince Reza Pahlavi and Hassan Shariatmadri may return to Iran and my old friend Javad Khadem is also on the same plane.
Then along with my journalist friends Jamal Bozorgzadeh and Jamshid Chalangi we could return to Iran and go and see ourloved ones after decades of having lived in exile.
Khomeini was brutal to his close supporters butthis time people who return from exile would only look for love and peace among our suffering people.
There are still decent people among this regime. People like Mohaghegh Damad and Abdullah Nouri.
And those who have committed crimes against ourpeople cannot escape justice.
They include Ali Akbar Velayati and Mohammad Jasbi who have been running the Azad University as a money making machine, not an institute to educate our young people to help it progress in the modern world.
In the second part of the program we will watch a video clip of the days of pre revolution in Iran as well as reporting on the meeting of Putin and the North Korean leader.
