A Window to the Fatherland/Dr. Nourizadeh/March 13

We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
We continue the program with talking to our special guest Kak Abdullah Mohtadi of the Komola Party of Kurdistan of Iran.

We begin our conversation by asking him about the significance of Nowruz and the new Persian Year among our Iranian and non Iranian Kurdish people.

Also, the help that our Kurdish people have provided to those of their compatriots in other parts of Iran to flee from crackdowns by the regime and seek refuge in Western countries.

Abdullah Mohtadi:

Yes, sadly most of the people who have fled Iran and from our young generation.

They had hoped that the reformist movement and their leadership could achieve their objectives and realise their hopes. But later faced the vicious and despotic barrier of the regime manifested in the theory of the Velayate Faghih, which has ruled Iran for the last four decades.

The regime had deceitfully claimed that the reformists were after overthrowing it but in reality the reformists have done their best to maintain the regime in power all these years.

We never accepted the rule of clergy over our country since the revolution in 1979 and have from that date till today helped even those who were unkind to our position and supported the regime to flee from its repression.

I take this opportunity and wish everyone a happy Nowruz.
