We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
We continue the program with talking to our special guest of every Thursday, Dr. Mohsen Sazegara, for his views about why the Islamic republic regime has been at odds with our national and happy festival of Nowruz and wants to replace it with its own sad and mourning events.
Our nation is already embroiled in poverty, high price rises, numerous environmental diseases and woes and these problems have made them sad and depressed which is what Khamenei wants to see.
Because in his view a desperate and sad nation will not have the power or desire to challenge the regime.
However, for us Iranians Nowruz has always been the time and reminder to rise up for change in our lives and embrace happiness for a brighter future.
The mullahs who have always promoted ignorance and never danced or celebrated happy occasion could never get the message of Nowruz.
Among some nations dancing and singing and promoting music is one way of social struggle for change.
On the issue of Soroush’s comments, he has been a teacher to many including myself in the matters of ethics and rational thinking but his recent comments have reduced him to a low personality.
