We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
We continue the program with talking to our special guest of every Thursday, Dr. Mohsen Sazegara, for his views about the latest news of Iran and the region.
We begin by asking him why the Javan daily in Iran has described the Warsaw conference as “a weak circus”?
Dr. Mohsen Sazegara:
It depends on what this daily means by being weak. Some had suggested that this conference will decide the fate of the regime.Others claimed that because they have been invited then they are the alternative force to the regime.
I think the success of this conference was in the Israeli and Arab representatives sitting next to each other under one ceiling.
However, the Palestinians have not taken part in it but the British Foreign Minister’s presence was important.
Contrary to the Javan daily’s assumption, the Warsaw conference is the beginning of a new chapter in fighting the curse of terrorism and radicalism in the Middle East and beyond and the regime in Tehran is quite scared that a new alliance of more than 60 countries can push thismove under the US leadership.
Even though they changed the title of the conference, everyone knows that the focus of the debates was Iran and its regime. I believe the Americans have achieved 75 percent of what they wanted form this conference.
I do not think war against Iran is an option but the Israelis have now come out of this conference with more international support for their campaign against the Iranian forces in Syria.
