A Window to the Fatherland/Dr. Nourizadeh/December 1

We begin to night’s program with Dr Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from his collected works.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

In tonight’s program we will discuss the comments of Brian Hook, US special envoy for Iran affairs, with Dr Mohsen Sazegara, to find out if Washington is now on s new course of action towards the Iranian regime.

Dr Mohsen Sazegara:

The truth is that the Europeans had given many promises to the Iranians to help them out after US withdrew from the nuclear deal.

But in reality the US pressure on them have been effective and nothing substantial has happened.

And now Mr Hook has displayed a range of military hardware that the regime has supplied to the Houthis in Yemen which is meant to tell the Europeans that if you trade with this regime you are indirectly supporting terrorism and instability in the Middle East.

The Chinese have also backed off from full support of the regime by buying its oil despite the US sanctions.

At the same time the price of oil has remained stable and not jumped up against earlier predictions.

Dr Nourizadeh:

Do you think the attempt to impeach Zarif if a political game between the factions of the regime or Khamenei is now wants to see the back of him?

Dr Sazegara:

I have got the exclusive news that Zarif had resigned in protest against the Paris terrorist plot and arrest of Iranian diplomats in Denmark but Khamenei had rejected it.
Zarif had argued his diplomatic talks with EU are worthless while the hardliners underline them with assassination plots.
