We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
First we will watch a short clip of the film Dash Akol by the renowned film director Massoud Kimaiyie’s and discuss it later in the program.
Reflecting again on the Ashura and Muharram, I must say that the Islamic republic regime has been a cultural curse and destroyed our innocent and pure religious beliefs.
We used to honour mourning occasions from very early age but since the rise of the Islamic republic regime these occasions have turned into a business for theregime to justify its existence and all the miseries that it has brought onto our people.
As such, in the Iran of today the Ashura has become an exhibition of the regime’s vulgar culture and mentality where thugs roam on the streets and yell slogans that only serve the reactionary political views of the regime. And yet theyclaim it is all for upholding the memory of Imam Hossein’s martyrdom!!
The political commentator and academic Dr. Sadegh Zibakalma has come up with supporting Ahmadinejad as the former president has strongly defended his former deputies who have now been imprisoned by the regime on phony charges.
Dr. Zibakalam has quite rightly said that the former president Mohammad Khatamiacted timidly by refusing to defend his interior minister Abdullah Nouri when he became the victim of Iran’s reactionary political forces and was jailed for 5 years on similar charges raised against Ahmadinejad’s deputies.
I believe people like Zibakalam speak for the conscious of the Iranian peopleeven though they may not necessarily agree with all his political views.
We have received the very disturbing news of a young girl by the name of Darya who is suffering from cancer but her young parents have been arrested by the regime’s intelligence agencies for their Baha’i faith.
The young girl is in severe pain and suffering in the absence of her parents and the story is yet another type of the gross human rights violations that arecommitted by the regime against our people, while it pretends to be mourning the injustice that were carried against Imam Hossein in Ashura!!
One thing is for sure; the explosion of the wrath of the Iranian people will eventually weep the regime and its wobbly life aside!!
