Behind the Headlines/July 13

Jamshid Chalangi:

In tonight’s program of Behind the Headlines we speak to our guests Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh and Mr. Mohammad Nourizad about the situation in the Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran, as well as the latest Trump comments about the Islamic republic regime of Iran.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

Allow me to give an historic example here. In the Turkmenchay Treaty it was mentioned that the rule of monarchy in the family of Abbas Mirza must remain hereditary and after the death of Abbas Mirza his son Mohammad Mirza became the king.

Now, Khamenei has sent his son Mujtaba twice to Moscow to get the Russian’s agreement that his son sits on the throne after his death, exactly like what happened in the Turkmenchay Treaty nearly 200 years ago after the Russo-Persian war.

In return the Russians have gained a great deal of concessions from Khamenei as his special advisor has met with Putin yesterday and on his return has said that the Russians have agreed to compensate for the US sanctions by agreeing to a $45 billion investment in Iran’s oil industries.

But this is a big lie as the Russians have now increased their oil production and had already devoured Iran’s share of the Caspian Sea’s oil resources and now Khamenei wants to leave the destiny of Iran and the Iranians in the hands of Moscow.

However, Trump is after the surrender of Khamenei and soon the Iranian people will see the humiliation of his regime.

Mohammad Nourizad:

The people of Sistan and Baluchestan suffer from various discriminations. The Sunni Muslim religious leaders of this province must remain under the control of the Shia regime’s decrees and are not allowed to leave the cities in which they live. The Sunni children are looked upon as slaves. They suffer from the same social conditions that our Baha’i fellow Iranians suffer. People pass by the Zoroastrians and look at them as though they are infidels.

This attitude of the regime towards our religious ethnic people has forced their young people to leave the country and find work in the neighboring countries.

Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:

The problem in Iran is that it is ruled by a regime that is not reformable and despises the idea of change. Khomeini himself was a simple-minded person and would easily be manipulated. He did not have the slightest idea about the modern world.

Iranians would get to nowhere with these so-called reformists within this religious system and we have no other option but to remove the regime if we want to rebuild our country and free it.

The Russians and the Israelis have used this regime for long in the issues of the war with Iraq and the nuclear program.

People like the late Amir Entezam had the ideas of turning Iran into another Singapore, which did not conform to the reactionary mindsets of the mullahs.

The late Shah of Iran had many such great dreams and history has proved that he was taking Iran forward into a modern country before the arrival of the backward mullahs.

Amir Entezam too was also a patriot.
