We begin tonight’s edition of A Window to the Fatherland with Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh reading one of his poems from the book of his collected works.
Dr. Alireza Nourizadeh:
Today’s Iranian news has been dominated by the discovery the mummified body of the late Reza Shah in the city of Rey.
Eyewitnesses have said that construction workers have come across the mummified body while digging an area next to the now demolished site of Reza Shah’s mausoleum and as a result the construction work has stopped.
Hassan Khalil-Abadi, the head of cultural heritage committee at Tehran’s city council has confirmed that the mummified body is that of Reza Shah. However, Mustafa Ajorlou, deputy public relations officer at Shah Abdulazim’s Shrine properties has denied this in an interview with Fars news agency.
“All the rumours on the social media that claim this mummified body belongs to Reza Shah are false and void of any truth”, Ajorlou has said.
The body has been found in Baghe Tooti (Mulberry Gardens) area next to the shrine.
Empress Farah Pahlavi has previously confirmed that the body had never been removed from the mausoleum when the “hanging judge” ayatollah Khalkhali had ordered its demolition.
We will continue the program with reporting on the disgraceful reaction of Iran’s chief judge ayatollah Amoli to the savage beating of the young Iranian girl for removing her scarf in public.
While some people have suggested that the establishment has been embarrassed by this horrific incident, the very man who is supposed to be responsible for the implementation of laws and the justice system in the country has unashamedly said that “all those who confront the security forces and resist the orders of the morality police must be dealt with punishment and the law enforcement forces must not retreat an inch”.
Later we will speak to our foreign correspondent Mohammad Reza Shaheed who is reporting from the US on the French President’s trip to the country where he is holding very important talks with President Trump about major international issues, including the Iran nuclear deal.
In the second part of the program we will discuss the details of Iran’s budget for the current fiscal year and find out how millions of dollars of the public money is being plundered and channeled into the most reactionary religious organizations in the country with the aim of sustaining the regime’s despotic hold to power.
At the end of the program we will update our audience with the latest news of the Middle East region.
