GREEN MOVEMENT

BY: DR EDEN FAZEL

)Iranian Green Movement doesn’t recognise any individual or group as its enemy. The Green movement doesn’t even recognise the heads of IRI dictatorship as its enemy and considers all fellow Iranians and world citizens it’s friends.

The green movement recognises IRI dictators as friends who have deviated from the path of independence, freedom and republicanism the three main principles of Iranian 1978 revolution. The green movement asserts that the dictators have alienated Iranians from the IRI regime, hence in fact are casual to disintegration of the IRI regime.
The Green movement advises the dictators to step down from power, and for them to bow to the will of people, and hitherto offers a friendly and peaceful hand to them.

)The green movement doesn’t necessarily entertain the idea of toppling the IRI regime. The green movement solely persists on revival of fundamentals of Iranian revolution of 1978, and will assertively pursue the principles of freedom, independence and Republicanism. Sustenance or disintegration of the IRI regime is hence dependent on cooperation (or lack of cooperation) of dictatorial figureheads, and in fact their resignation from power, and abstinence from oppression under false claim of God given religious authority.

)The green movement recognises personal and social freedoms as fundamental principles, and believes that the “regime’s authority” is not a priority to these fundamental principles. The regime should deputise its people and can’t be sustained without their support. The green movement therefore without any form of personal or social animosity offers the dictators an opportunity to resign from power, repent, and rectify their huge mistakes. These will save the IRI regime from disintegration, and help restore order and peace.

)The green movement will actively resist all acts of oppression and will continue its non-violent activities until personal and social freedoms are established. Freedom is a natural inclination of mankind, and a souvenir of human history, cultures, religions and civilisations. Its repression for the excuse of sustenance of a regime or false claims of God given authority is not tolerable. The green movement will pursue its non-violent activities until terminal eradication of the dictatorship and elimination of dictatorial organs from the regime.

)The green movement recommends people to help remove the dictators from power or to convince them to resign from their position, through non-violent disobedience. The movement doesn’t authorise or legitimise any form of violent action against dictators or their supporters. The movement recommends non-violent resistance, and civil disobedience until freedom is restored and dictatorship is eliminated from the regime.

)The green movement considers non-armed self-defence a legitimate right of all citizens – to defend themselves and their properties against violent attack. It however, persists on exercising reasonable, non-armed and equivalent force only for defence. The green movement doesn’t agree with any provoking acts of physical hatred against the dictators.

)The green movement will continue its activities to reform, and if not possible to eradicate the main organs of dictatorship. The world has witnessed disgraceful acts of oppression, and violence against civilians that were originated and backed by the IRI leader, the claimed victor of Iran’s presidential elections, the guardian council, and judiciary system. The green movement is seriously concerned with unlimited power exercised under the false claim of God given authority and will continue its activities through legal means to enforce and establish people’s authority and power. The green movement views the modification of the IRI constitution a vital necessity to avoid future resurgences of dictatorship in Iran.

)The green movement persists on the principle of “independence” from foreign authority and powers. The movement is seriously troubled by the unilateral reliance of dictators on foreign powers like China and Russia, and the use of their military/strategy consultants for oppression of fellow Iranians. However, the green movement refrains from unreasonable animosity against the international community and believes in peaceful alliance and coexistence with all world citizens. The green movement does appreciate the humane empathy, support and expressed concerns of the world community about what is happening in Iran.

)The green movement believes in international collaboration and peaceful coexistence with the world community. It aims for reducing tension in the region and throughout the world, avoids alienation of other nations, and believes in de-escalation of military competition in the Middle East and throughout the world. The movement believes that neither Iran nor any other country should use military means of intervention in affairs of other countries in the Middle East or throughout the world.

)The green movement realises that a large minority support the IRI dictatorial figureheads. The movement recognises their rights to freedom, their human rights, and participation in future polls. This principle remains irreversibly mandatory after attainment of the movement’s objectives, and the movement will remain committed to abstinence from any form of oppression of this above-mentioned large minority after attaining success.

)The green movement doesn’t engage in any form of negotiation with the dictators –until complete and unconditional stoppage of violence against civilians, freedom of detainees, peaceful demonstration, media, and establishment of personal and social freedoms.

)The green movement recommends free referendum and elections as the only way to step out of the current impasse created by the dictators. Such polls should be organised, coordinated and witnessed by independent parties and possibly international observers.

)The green movement needs to identify a team of leaders, as opposed to monopolisation of the movement’s leadership in the hands of one person. The team of leaders should function in a consistent and coordinated manner. This will protect the leaders from too much vulnerability and helps dilute responsibility to a group and ultimately to the people. It will also protect the movement from any possible dictatorial tendencies.

)The green movement recommends the core nucleus of the leadership to be managed by individuals who are capable of open, consistent and continuous resistance against dictatorship.

)The green movement considers the dictators and dictatorial organs mentioned earlier illegitimate. The movement expresses concern about disgraceful behaviours of the dictators to damage the principles of freedom, independence and republicanism of Iran 1978 revolution.

)The movement stays committed to dissemination of authentic and truthful news to the world.

)The movement will exercise incremental pressure through non-violent means on dictators. The green movement however recommends all its supporters to abstain from any form of personal and physical violence against the dictators and their supporter.

)The green movement recommends its supporters to absolve fully from the dictators and their support groups and organs, as it sees the principles of independence, freedom and republicanism under attack in Iran. The movement recommends sanction of any form of cooperation with the dictators until the objectives mentioned earlier have been achieved. The green movement considers the dictators the main and most dangerous threat to the sustenance of the IRI regime, and encourages its supporters to nonviolent civil disobedience.

)The movement recommends Iranians to abstain from any form of economic alliance and cooperation with the Chinese and Russian companies until their respective governments withhold their support from the IRI dictators. It also recommends Iranians and the world citizens to sanction Russian and Chinese products in the mean time. The movement recommends the Chinese and Russian governments to absolve from involvement with the dictators for their behaviour not to influence our future relationship with these countries.

)The green movement is terribly concerned with the abuse of religion and false claim of God given authority by the dictators. The movement considers such behaviour direct violation of God’s law and authority, and considers any such claims to be false and illegitimate. The green movement recommends its leaders and supporters to be fully united under the banner of freedom, to abstain from any form of competition, and to submit to competence, wisdom and courage of its leaders.

)The movement remains committed to personal and social freedoms of the large minority supporters of the dictators after success and achievement of its objectives.

)The green movement will abstain from mass oppression, mass execution, and illegal confiscation of belongings of the dictators and their supporters. The movement will allow the large minority supporters of the dictators to take part in polls and will respect their legal rights.

)The movement recommends transparency, openness, and abstains from political elitism and secretiveness, and consider education and involvement of every single Iranian important throughout this process.

)The green movement stays committed to devolution of power to people after this transitional period of resistance. The movement leaders stay committed to dissolution of the leadership committee after three months (up to a maximum of six months) of achievement of the movement’s objective. This grace period is for the necessary polls to take place to form a legitimate government through people’s decision. The maximum six-month period is not extendable. The movement leaders can participate as nominees of the future elections through normal means if they wish so.

*definition of success: stoppage of oppression and violence, freedom of detainees, establishment of personal and social freedoms, freedom of media, facilitation of polls (election and referendum) with surveillance of independent observers.

)The green movement recommends the movement to disseminate throughout the country. The movement belongs to all layers of the society from any town, city or rural areas, and extends the movement out of the capital and to the remotest ends of the country.

)The movement recommends non-violent disobedience and non-cooperation. However it absolves from any fundamental and irreversible destructive acts against the country and its resources.

)The movement remains committed to social justice, eradication of poverty and elimination of corruption from IRI economy during and after success.

)The green movement is aware of the deep anger and frustration, and fragmentation within IRI military and police forces. It however recommends the police and military forces neither to clash against the dictators, nor among themselves, and to solely abstain from oppressing their own peopl
